I'm widowed with two children, three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren and have lived in Stevenage since 1972.
I retired from Fujitsu Services in 2010 where I worked as a senior business consultant and was involved with their Impact on Society group. This was where I first became involved with Stevenage Community Trust.
I’m the Deputy Leader of Stevenage Borough Council and a councillor for Almond Hill in Stevenage, chair of the Oval Community Association, Chair of Douglas Drive Senior Citizens Centre and council representative on Hampson Park Community Association and Age Concern.
I became a trustee of Stevenage Community Trust so that I could continue to help residents of Stevenage and surrounding villages and I am also chair of the Grants Committee.
In our first 35 years, we gave out more than £2.5 million in grants to help local people and organisations.
We could not have realised this without the generosity of our supporters and our aim is to build on the these rock solid foundations and be even more impactful for our community as we focus on the next 15 years towards our 50th anniversary.Robert Stewart - President
