As a Trust we support both individuals through Hardship Grants and charities and organisations through Community Grants, covering Stevenage and surrounding villages.
In order to ensure that your money reaches those in most need we have been approved by Stevenage Borough Council to create this fund to ensure that your generosity goes to the people that need it most.
Stevenage Community Trust has been serving the people of Stevenage for 30 years, this appeal will be run at zero cost ensuring that 100% of the money we receive from Virgin Money Giving goes directly to those benefiting from the appeal. *Virgin Money Giving charges a small fee for processing donations, you can cover this fee as you donate to ensure that your full donation goes to the appeal.
Previously the UK has all witnessed large appeals that have failed to support those in the most need, sometimes through misinformed campaigns or criminal activity where individuals see an opportunity to profit. In partnership with Stevenage Borough Council we want to give you peace of mind when you donate.
In donating to the Stevenage Helps Appeal you can be confident that your donation will be either; directly be given to those experiencing hardship due to the circumstances created by COVID-19 or given to charities and organisations with expertise in their given area, working in our community. All individuals, charities or organisations will be assessed under our established criteria and all of the money goes to support your local community.
Currently we have no idea of the scale of need our community is facing, but we expect it to be great and it's likely our current target of £100,000 will need to increase as the most vulnerable in society continue to struggle with day to day life.
Right now it would be easy to see the task as too great, or the situation as too difficult. But together we can provide hope and support, ensuring that our community is supported by those who are able to help. Please spread the word using the hashtag #StevenageHelps and donate today.
In our first 34 years, we gave out more than £2 million in grants to help local people and organisations.
We could not have realised this without the generosity of our supporters and our aim is to build on the these rock solid foundations and be even more impactful for our community as we focus on the next 15 years towards our 50th anniversary.Robert Stewart - President
