Annual Charity Golf Day 2024

A new course, record number of teams, a huge record-breaking total and another fantastic day had by all at the annual Stevenage Community Trust golf day. Thank you so much to Chesfield Downs Golf Club for your warm welcome and to Tollers Solicitors, for once again taking the spot of lead sponsor for the event.
The weather couldn’t beat us as familiar faces returned to the green, along with a whole host of new teams and supporters ready to take part in what as always was a fantastic occasion. We were overjoyed to register an overwhelming 25 teams and welcome everyone with tea, coffee and bacon rolls. Then came the exciting 9am shotgun start and the teams were off, eager to participate in the day and our on-course competitions. Thank you to The Wine Society for sponsoring their well-loved Champagne Challenge, and to golf professional Rhys Leggett for donating his time on our Beat the Pro hole.
The Yellow Ball this year was sponsored by Powell Funeral Directors and EH Crouch and we had all the usual on-course competitions and appreciate everyone who sponsored these or holes for us, this year.
The winners this time were TDI Solutions (UK) Ltd who are long-term players and we were delighted to witness their success. They were awarded prizes of Range-finders, sponsored by OTE Concerts who also kindly gifted everyone who played a ticket to Old Town Live taking place in Ware this year. Congratulations also to runners up – NationServ who were first timers to the competition and we would be delighted to welcome them back again in future.
Everyone then retired to the clubhouse patio to enjoy a beautiful BBQ dinner, prize presentation, charity raffle and auction.
The event raised an incredible £12,500, which will go directly to those in need in the Stevenage community. To give just one example, this will help support 40 families with their heating bills this winter. It really does make a significant difference and we are so grateful.
